1 Introduction

Welcome to YayTally (“we”, “our”, or “us”), operating at yaytally.com. We respect your personal privacy and are committed to protecting all data collected while you use our digital online tally counter application.

This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we handle local and cloud data, and your privacy rights under applicable data protection laws, including GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) and CCPA (California Consumer Privacy Act).

2 Information We Collect

A. Guest Mode (Unauthenticated Users)

When you use YayTally without signing in, all counter titles, numeric counts, target goals, timer settings, notes, and preferences are stored exclusively in your local web browser’s LocalStorage. We do not transmit your guest counter values to our backend servers.

B. Cloud Sync Mode (Registered Users)

If you choose to create a free account to sync your counters across multiple devices, we collect limited personal identification data:

  • Account Information: Email address and authentication provider profile (e.g. Google Sign-In via Firebase Auth).
  • Synchronized Counter Data: Counter values, groups, notes, step increments, and timestamp activity logs sent to Firebase Realtime Database.

C. Technical & Diagnostic Logs

Like standard web services, our servers and hosting providers automatically collect standard web server logs including IP address, browser type, device operating system, referring URL, and page request timestamps to ensure application stability and server security.

3 How We Use Your Information

We use the data collected strictly for the following operational purposes:

Service Delivery

To maintain, sync, store, and display your tally counters across web browsers.

Security & Authentication
